Design
Designed for the Gen 1 and Gen 2 cars, this intake incorporates a fully sealed design with dual inlets and a full carbon fibre turbo pipe, inlet tube and frontal dual inlet duct.
When it comes to GR Yaris intake design the most important factor is INTAKE TEMPERATURES
The majority of intake systems on the market are open designs which allow high temperature engine bay air to enter the intake system.
This has has a two tier negative effect:
- The most understood effect is that the hotter engine bay air is less dense in oxygen which naturally produces less power.
- The second effect is less well understood. The ECU detects the higher temperature air through the intake air. The ECU temperature compensation tables will reduce ignition timing which has a significant effect on power output and throttle response and target boost.
This is often not seen on dyno testing of open intakes as most tests are performed with the bonnet open.
The Infinity Design intake is fully sealed with the dual frontal Inlet Air Duct housings which has been meticulously designed to allow for maximum air flow creating a perfect seal which keeps the intake air temperatures at their lowest point at all times and thus giving the best possible performance.
Heatsoak is non existent.
The intake tube of the intake is made up of a single venturi tube with to smooth out the airflow which in turn improves throttle response and increase HP/TQ. The less the engine has to work in drawing in the air the more power it can potentially generate.
This Design allows for faster turbo spool up times.
